Seacourt is a fine local environment

(at the moment). It is Green Field - never developed. There are traces of habitation in the Iron Age, nil since.

OBG visited Seacourt Park and Ride on the weekend the new Westgate Centre opened in late October 2017.  We found ample parking despite the COuncil's fears the P&Rs would be overwhelmed. Dr Liz Sawyer, one of the local residents campaigning against the plans explained why the Council should think again. Our sett records officer Barbara Witkowski talked about her long standing love of the area and the damage development will cause. Our videos from that day can be viewed below. A testament to what is at risk here.

The area is rich with wildlife including badgers,  bats, owls, butterflies, fox and deer.  It is rich with birdsong and plants. Shamefully, the environmental report produce for the council fails to reflect the biodiversity. It claims the development site is not of any special importance. That planting a hedge round it will be adequate mitigation.
